The Town of Montgomery was founded in 1780 and is located in Hampden County.

The community contains a population of about 650 year round residents.

Located in the community are a few small home businesses which contain family day care homes and construction equipment companies. There are no stores or gas stations and no schools, children of the community are students of the Gateway Regional School District.

Where is the cruise being hosted?- The cruise is being hosted on the Harroitt II riverboat. It's located on the riverwalk in downtown Montgomery, AL.

If I want to pick-up tickets in person do I have that option? Yes, you can come by our office onany Friday prior to the cruise. Our address is 8436 Crossland Loop Suite 203 Montgomery, AL 36117. The tickets willbe available for purchase and pick-up from 12 noon - 6 pm. If that time doesn't fit your schedule call us to arrange for in person pick-up.

After I purchase tickets online how do I receive my tickets?Your tickets are mailed to the address provided during the purchasing process.

What time is boarding and what time does the boat cruise?- Boarding starts at 9:45 pm. The boat will not cruise until 10:30 pm. Because tickets purchasers are traveling from as faraway as Atlanta we want to give everyone a chance to board.

What is included with V.I.P admission to the Boat Party?- V.I.P. includes a speedy admission onto the boat party, delicious food, and an open bar for the 1st hour of the event to start you off right all while partying on the boat.

What is the address for boarding the boat?The entrance to the boarding area is 213 Commerce Street. Parking is available at any street-level meter, in front of or behindUnion Station, and in the Commerce or Coosa Street parking decks.

The Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) designation is designed for real estate buyer agents who focus on working directly with buyer-clients.

The path towards becoming an ABR begins by taking the Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) Designation Course. After you complete this course, you will automatically become a member of REBAC for one yearfree!   2. Successful completion of one of the ABR elective courses, including an 80 percent passing grade on the exam. This course may be taken prior to completing the Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) Designation Course.

  3. Documentation verifying five (5) completed transactions in which you acted solely as a buyer's representative (no dual agency). Any transactions closed prior to taking the Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) Designation Course or closed within three years after completing the Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) Designation Course are eligible for credit. Documentation necessary for each of your five (5) completed transactions:

    • Copy of the signed buyer agency agreement OR purchase/sale agreement OR disclosure statement. The contract must verify the agent's name and/or include the agent's signature as the buyer's agent. Providing only the name and/or signature of the buyer's agent's broker is not sufficient.

      AND

    • Copy of the closing/settlement statement or letter from your broker verifying that each transaction closed

  4. Maintain active and good membership status in the Real Estate Buyers Agent Council (REBAC) and the National Association of REALTORS. Exception: International members of REBAC do not have to be members of NAR.

Important Notes: All requirements must be completed within three years of passing the Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR ) Designation Course. Only REALTORS who meet all these requirements and have been officially awarded the ABR designation are permitted to call themselves an ABR and use the ABR logo.

NASW Alabama | American Red Cross: Disaster Mental Health Volunteer Training

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Alabama Chapter in collaboration with the American Red Cross is facilitating a one day training workshop related to Mental Health Volunteer Training for pertinent practice areas including the disciplinary areas of Social Work, Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Registered Nurses (RN), etc. that ultimately impact those we serve. Alabama is considered to be one of the most disaster-prone states in the Southeast. Volunteers are always needed to respond to disasters in local communities throughout the state. To sign up as a Red Cross Disaster Services Volunteer, however, you must be trained. Red Cross volunteers and staff work hand in hand to respond to disasters ranging from single family home fires to larger disasters, such as tornadoes, hurricanes and floods, affecting families and communities at large. Be proactive in your professional development by attending this rewarding training - it's the first step to becoming a valuable and contributing resource that is capable of making a difference in our communities and in the lives of those impacted by unexpected Disaster and / or Destruction.. Topics being covered throughout the day specifically include:


  • Disaster Services Overview -Attendees are provided an introduction to Disaster Services and its multiple components at the American Red Cross. Facilitator: American Red Cross Staff.

  • Disaster Mental Health Fundamentals - Attendees are introduced to the key concepts, knowledge and skills required to become a Disaster Mental Health (DMH) volunteer. Participants must be currently licensed mental health professionals, or can be faculty mentors with student oversight for student volunteer coordination. Experience the opportunity to apply learning to real-world examples reflecting challenges on a Disaster Action Team response or larger disaster relief operation. Participants eligible to attend can be social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurse (RN) with psychiatric nursing experience and training, etc.Facilitator: Suzanne Geiger, MSW, LCSW-PIP

  • Psychological First Aid (PFA) -Participants learn how to cope with emergencies and learn to prepare, respond to, and recover from trauma. Topics include spotting stress, lowering stress through resilience, identification of community resources, etc. Facilitator:Suzanne Geiger, MSW, LCSW-PIP

** Seven (7) Contact Hours will be earned by Social Work participants of this Training Workshop. Other Disciplinary Areas Continuing Education Verifications may be available (check with your regulatory organization for details). Lunch is included **

April 2015 Convening of the National Network of Family Support & Strengthening Networks

Context:

The National Network of Family Support and Strengthening Networks is now four years old. According to the phases of development of networks, NNFSSN is progressing from being an emerging network to an evolving network. This Convening will advance its priorities related to the implementation of the Standards of Quality and opportunities for peer sharing and learning as well as explore key issues to support its continued development.

Objectives:

  1. Build and strengthen relationships with Network Members from other states through peer sharing, mutual support and exploration of ways to connect, collaborate.

  2. Increase knowledge base of strategies to develop and promote family strengthening and support, including implementation of the Standards, evidence-based practices, successful network building and return on investment.

  3. Connect and collaborate with key national partners, including the Center for the Study of Social Policy, FRIENDS, the Administration of Children, Youth and Families, National Alliance of Children's Trust and Prevention Funds.

  4. Contribute to the success of the National Network for Family Support and Strengthening Networks by developing and refining structures, processes and guidelines.

Up to 3 leaders from each statewide network are invited to participate.

8:30-5:00pm - Certification Training on the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support co-hosted by the National Network of Family Support & Strengtheing Networks and theAlabama Network of Family Resource Centers

We highly encourage all those who are able to participate in person to do so to maximize the value of this opportunity. For those participants who cannot participate in person, please register to call in to listen to the available sections (TBA).

Another hotel within walking distance is the Double Tree which also offers AAA discounts. Double Tree does not have an airport shuttle, which would be about a $20 taxi ride.

  • Montgomery Airport (MGM), 15min from venue: Embassy Suites Hotel shuttle will pick up and drop off (15 minute commute)
  • Birmingham Airport (BHM), 1.5 hours from venue: Participants will need to rent a car, coordinate with other participants to share a rental car, or the Alabama Network may be able to provide a pick up. Please indicate if you may be flying into this airport on your registration and someone will contact you regarding transportation.
